| SFB is one of the leading window and door manufacturers in the the United States. Employees now work in more than 2 million square feet of manufacturing space in five different cities and manufacture windows and doors of every style, shape and size. The company is based in Medford, Wis., with manufacturing facilities in Ladysmith, Greenwood, Parkwood and Medford, Wis.; and in Logan, Utah.
Innovation remains the name of the game at SFB. SBF has always led the industry - moving from aluminum products to aluminum-clad wood and then vinyl windows and doors before the rest of the market. Today, SBF's innovation focuses on developing energy efficient, quality products that are made in environmentally conscious ways.
Innovation doesn't stop with products; it also extends to the technologies used to manufacture the products. Since the company produces custom windows and doors, standard industry equipment often does not meet the company's needs, so it's designed its own machinery. Its in-house technicians constantly work to perfect existing machinery and develop new technology to help SFB produce quality products quickly and efficiently.
Harkening back to the company's origins, SFB produces the majority of its window components internally. The successful vertical integration of the company enables SFB to temper its own glass, extrude its own vinyl, and mill its own lumber. The result is a streamlined operation that allows for better internal controls.
